Overview

Yuan is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online.

Background Story

Veradrix described Yuan as blunt, but in fact Yuan is quite humble. Yuan is already a living legend within the Blader community. He simply does not reveal that fact to others.

However, little is known about Yuan other than the fact that he uses two swords. Yuan always exercises leadership with a rational demeanor alongside the Lord of Destruction and Prometheus. He also possesses ancient knowledge unknown to others.

Activities in In-Game Quests

Prologue

He appears as a member of the Ruins Investigators, accompanying Veradrix. Yuan immediately drops the formal speech after saying that “I” am decent for a novice trainee. He subsequently supports the activities of the Ruins Investigators.

The King's Consort and Guardian Knights

The Memorial Core collected by “me” displayed the faces of Veradrix, Yuan, Rin, and Freed in succession. They were the Guardian Knights of Light. Yuan is surprised to learn that he is a Guardian Knight of Light capable of standing against the King. Later, together with “my” group, he unseals the Underground Bunker of Ice Mountain east of Bloody Ice and finds the third Apocalypse Card.

The King disappears

Nine was infected with The Vampire's poison, creating a situation in which an antidote had to be obtained. Of the three antidotes needed, Yuan obtained the Plant Clan's antidote. Later, upon learning from Silverwood that Patren had been kidnapped, he comforted the group members who were blaming themselves or confused and prepared a way to bring Patren back.

Yuan said that he would search for the Monster Clan Master with Patren until Silverwood found the Absolute Soul Core, and proposed that they split up to investigate the Monster Clan that had not yet been attacked. He then told “me” to investigate the Plant Clan northwest of Green Despair. Just as Yuan had thought, they met Patren and Silverwood there and succeeded in rescuing Patren from Silverwood.

While “I” was carrying out another mission, Freed was secretly investigating the Heresists who had infiltrated Port Lux together with Rin and Yuan. In the meantime, they succeeded in capturing a member of the Dark Clan. However, the Dark Clan captive refused to speak, and Freed asked “me” to interrogate him instead.

After the interrogation, the Dark Clan captive confessed that they had been exploiting the resurgence of the Heresists and had in fact joined forces with Prometheus. However, he denied that the Dark Clan was under Prometheus's command, saying that they were merely in a cooperative relationship.

In fact, the fragments of the Absolute Soul Core possessed by the Monster Clan masters were reacting according to each other's strength. They sensed the existence of the most powerful seventh Piece, and the Dark Clan sought to expand its influence by using the Heresist in preparation for the chaos to come. The Dark Clan prisoner also lets slip that Prometheus is searching not only for Lord of Destruction but also for an object with the power to control the Absolute Soul Core.

Burying the sorrow

While they were away, Aike was killed and Patren disappeared in an attack by Silverwood. Even as everyone was dazed by the shock, Yuan was concerned about both Arionell's guilt over failing to protect Patren and Aike's death. At the same time, Yuan was assessing the situation coldly enough to consider allowing Prometheus to get hold of Patren. Yuan learns of the ASC Controller from ‘me’ and realizes what Prometheus is looking for. Yuan intends to hurry and deliver this news to Veradrix.

Afterward, he speaks to ‘me’ after Aldebaran's funeral. He says that Veradrix had Mystic Blade join the party and asked Mystic Blade to track Prometheus. Yuan says that Mystic Blade seems taciturn but trustworthy.

With Sirius attacked, Aldebaran and Aike dead, and even Patren missing, bad news has piled up. Yuan decides that, after gathering everyone's opinions, they should move to Fort. Ruina for the time being. He asks ‘me’ to tell Veradrix and Sirius about the move.

The Truth About Prometheus

They meet again at the Abandoned House in Fort. Ruina. He says they could not enter the town because of the villagers' suspicion. From the Metal Clan's past movements, Yuan infers that the map may indeed show the location of Prometheus Base. At the Abandoned House in Fort. Ruina, the party decides to split into three groups and carry out their respective missions. Mystic Blade, Yuan, and Arionell will pursue Silverwood and search for Patren, while Freed and Rin will search for the ASC Controller. Nine and ‘I’ will attack Prometheus Base together. After it is revealed that Nine is a spy and all the comrades have gathered, Yuan had captured Silverwood but found no trace of Patren. Since Silverwood is unwilling to talk, Mystic Blade is interrogating him.

The Origin of the Lord of Destruction

They interrogate Silverwood, but achieve nothing. Silverwood seems determined never to reveal Patren's whereabouts. Yuan thinks of a way to make Silverwood talk.

Several of the ancient civilization's core technologies are being passed down to the Metal Clan, one of which is Serum of Truth. It stimulates the nerves in the brain and makes its subject speak only the truth, regardless of their own will. Yuan suggests obtaining and using it.

When Serum of Truth is used, Silverwood spills everything he knows. He says that the Lord of Destruction has already awakened and is running wild with uncontrollable power. He also says that even the ASC Controller will soon be destroyed by the Lord of Destruction. He reveals that the Lord of Destruction, Faust, and Saint Valentine are all the same person, and that he was also the one who created the ASC Controller.

In Search of the Land of Death

Yuan says that, given that the broken warp circuit was found in a Heresist hideout, Prometheus may have already determined the location of the ASC Controller, and suggests consulting Sirius.

Kingslayer

They travel with the party to Undead Ground to find the ASC Controller. Sirius says that Patren seems to have awakened as the Lord of Destruction and is running wild, so they must prepare a last resort. Sirius teaches them the second mission of the Six Stars. The Guardian Knights were each born with two missions, and among them, the two who can oppose the King and overcome his power are Arionell and Yuan.

Yuan's second mission is Kingslayer, while Arionell's second mission is Sealing. If Patren does not seal himself, the Stars of Light must carry out their second mission.

While Arionell pities Patren upon hearing about the Seal, Yuan quickly accepts the mission. Fearing that all of Nevareth will turn into hell if he abandons it, he sets out to find the Kingslayer's Weapon. However, he also says that he hopes he will not have to use the Kingslayer's Weapon.

The group decides that Rin and Freed will prepare the ASC Controller, Mystic Blade will prepare to track Silverwood, and Veradrix and Arionell will prepare Patren's Seal.

While Yuan searches for the Kingslayer's Weapon, Veradrix is murdered. Arionell tells the other companions about Veradrix's death and asks them to gather, saying that they should hold a simple funeral.

After hearing the news, Yuan cannot believe that Veradrix is dead and worries that the moment may come when he has to use the Kingslayer's Weapon.

Enraged by Veradrix's death, Yuan goes to find the Lord of Destruction with only one of the Kingslayer's Weapon pieces to kill Patren. If he receives a message from Cox and hurriedly gives chase, Yuan is on the verge of being killed by Patren. Yuan says that the Awakened Patren is too much for him to handle and asks them to leave him behind, but he is ultimately rescued by 'me'.

After Yuan is rescued, he apologizes for getting excited and acting too emotionally. Even though he knew he could not defeat the Lord of Destruction, he found it difficult to endure watching his companions die.

Destroying the Source of the Great Destruction

After Sirius dies, they gather again at the House of Undead. Even Yuan, who had always offered calm opinions, seems deeply shocked and blames himself, saying that Sirius died because he acted recklessly. He thinks that Sirius would not have died if it had not been for him. Yuan resolves to prevent the Great Destruction of Nevareth by sacrificing his own life, even if the Seal of the Lord of Destruction fails.

Once Patren's Seal is complete, Yuan says that he will help Arionell grow until Arionell is strong enough to protect him in the future.
