Overview
Leedy is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online.
Background Story
Leedy was originally a scientist from Senillinea who conducted research at Senillinean Tower. However, one day, people came from Nevareth, a continent unknown to Senillinea. Calling themselves Prometheus, they conducted secret research together with Senillinean Tower.
This brought terrible consequences to Senillinea. A massive explosion occurred at Senillinean Tower, Senillinea's climate changed, and the people split into two groups. Prometheus, who had led the research, had already disappeared long ago. Enraged, the people of Senillinea fled, leaving the scientists of Senillinean Tower behind in the tower.
Two people came to Leedy, who had been abandoned in the tower. They were Sage Capella and Procyon of Nevareth. They reached out to Leedy and asked for help, and Leedy took their hands and moved to Nevareth. However, Leedy gradually began to doubt the tasks assigned by the Sage.
Activities in In-Game Quests
Discovery of Research
You meet Leedy at the request of Officer Shooterburk. Startled, Leedy says they will call the guards, but are reassured when told that you came at Shooterburk’s recommendation. Leedy says they do not know much about “me” and that the people of Nevareth are frightening. Saying they do not even know whether the task they are about to assign involves betraying their country, they ask you to make up your mind.
Leedy had been conducting research alone in a remote place without meeting anyone. Saying that she cannot trust “me” yet, she demands a test of trust: collecting shards from Forgotten Ruin. She asks for the shards because the research being conducted on the orders of a Sage requires objects imbued with magical power. The objects remaining in Forgotten Ruin are remnants of the past and are valuable because they contain powerful magic. However, she keeps the nature of the research secret. Leedy feels a sense of familiarity during the meeting but cannot completely let down her guard. She demands one more test: this time, bringing back Ice Baba Yaga's Orb from Tower of Undead. She says she will explain why when you return. After you bring back the orb, she says that the research currently underway requires the power of strong Force. It was an experiment that ordinary people would find difficult to accept.
After completing all the quests, she tells you her story. Leedy came from another continent, and the person who brought her there was Sage Capella. However, Leedy had been feeling doubtful about the work she had been doing lately. What is right and what is wrong? Even if she is still young and knows nothing, cannot she still think? Leedy says that Procyon and Capella can never coexist and neither can yield. She noticed that they were trying to cross a line that must not be crossed. Leedy sought help through Shooterburk and became suspicious of Capella's actions. She recommends meeting the Sages directly to learn the full circumstances.
A Suspicious Sage
You visit Leedy to find out what research she is conducting. Leedy thinks the current research is more important than anything else. It is also the Sage's instruction. After watching for a reaction, she says that if the research succeeds, the war between the two nations could end sooner than expected. Leedy says she cannot make Nevareth like the place where she used to live.
You visit to ask about the potion found in Skaild's Little House. Leedy is confused, saying she never called for you, but her eyes light up when she sees the potion. The potion is unavailable in Nevareth and can only be obtained by one of the 7 Sages. She agrees to analyze its contents and tell you what she finds. When you bring the materials needed to determine the potion's identity, you learn that it is actually a potion that causes memory loss. In other words, the Sage lied. Leedy suggests that you find Skaild quickly.
First Meeting
Go to Leedy and ask her to make an antidote for the medicine that will restore Skaild's lost memories. Leedy is about to refuse, saying it is difficult, but she decides to make it after Aizhan persuades her. She makes the medicine if you bring her the necessary materials.
Mechanical Monster Weapon
If you bring the monster parts from Pontus Ferrum, Sage introduces you to Leedy, a scientist who can analyze them. Leedy pretends that she has never seen you before.
When you visit Leedy after hearing Skaild's confession, she initially denies it but soon admits the truth. Leedy says that she did not want to do it, but had no choice because it was Sage's order. Leedy explains what happened. Sage wanted to develop intelligent weapons to replace humans in preparation for a large-scale war, but there was a problem with controlling them, so he took them to Pontus Ferrum and abandoned them there. As a result, Metal Clan monsters began overrunning Pontus Ferrum.
Aboveground Inferno
Leedy says she thought you would not come back after hearing her story. She had been wondering how she could atone to those she had hurt and harmed because of her actions. She asks what she should do to help. Aizhan and Elena ask her to learn about the situation in Porta Inferno and investigate its source. When you show her the remains of the monument split in two from Porta Inferno, she senses an unusual aura and says she will tell you the results as soon as her investigation is complete.
The investigation results are out, but she cannot believe them because the findings are strange. She had sensed a power in the monument that no one in Nevareth possessed. It was the power of the vanished ASC Controller. Leedy speculates that the Dark Clan must have resonated with that power and says that the continent of Nevareth as a whole will be in danger.
Capella Branch
When you visit her with Turner to treat Aizhan, Leedy becomes flustered as if something has been discovered. Leedy claims that Turner is far from being a healing wizard and reveals that Aizhan's memories were actually altered on the orders of Sage Capella. She makes Aizhan a medicine that will restore her memories.
When you visit her with the distrustful Elena, she is surprised and asks how the two of you met. She says she promised Sage that she would never let the two of you meet. That alone is enough for Elena to believe her. Elena asks Leedy to keep it secret from Sage for a while.
Aizhan Branch
When you visit her with Elena, she recommends investigating the monument. After making a reagent that tracks its location, you learn that the person who destroyed the monument is in Bloody Ice Colony. She is disconcerted by the possibility that it may be someone she knows.
Prelude to the True Battle
If you visit her before departing for Senillinea, she confesses the truth. Leedy is originally from Senillinea, where she met the twin psychics. While working as a scientist, she was recruited by an organization made up of people from Nevareth after they recognized her abilities. While researching a way to summon a powerful force for the twin sisters there, she nearly caused the Senillinea Continent to be destroyed. Because of this, Sage Procyon and Capella kept the existence of the Senillinea Continent hidden from Nevareth.
Leedy thinks that the people of Senillinea believe the tower exploded because of her.
It was not the two Sages but an organization called Prometheus that first set foot in Senillinea. Without even knowing what the ASC Controller and Absolute Soul Core were, Leedy conducted the experiments as instructed. The experiment failed, but the tower exploded, and Prometheus left the continent with the children. The remaining researchers were isolated until the two Sages brought Turner and the children.
Leedy regrets that, although she only followed orders and conducted research because she believed ignorance was also a sin, it led to terrible consequences.
When she meets Aizhan, who distrusts her, she is surprised and asks how the two of them met. She says she promised the Sage that the two would never meet. That alone is enough for Aizhan to believe her. Aizhan asks Leedy to keep it secret from the Sage for a while.
The Sage meets Leedy in a three-way confrontation and reveals the truth.
In the past, the Sages discovered Senillinea while exploring the outside world after Patren's Seal. They found traces of Prometheus there. After hearing the circumstances from Leedy, who had remained in the tower, a Sage learned that Prometheus had not disbanded and was dreaming of a resurgence somewhere. The Sage formed a temporary alliance with other Sages and decided to share the power of the Lord of Destruction in order to protect Nevareth from Prometheus. The Sage now regrets that decision.
Leedy had previously been selected by Sage Rigel, and Prometheus continued researching the Absolute Soul Core even after the Lord of Destruction disappeared. When Rigel disappeared, Prometheus was shaken as well, but it had not ceased to exist. The Sages who had discovered the continent then came to the tower, and with Turner's power, they drew out the power of the Absolute Soul Core for the twin sisters.
However, that power was too strong. Leedy gave the twin sisters medicine to control their power. Aizhan lost her memories and her power fell dormant, but the medicine had no effect on Elena; instead, her power was amplified. Leedy sympathizes with the two of them.
At the Sage's request, Leedy opens a warp leading to Senillinean Tower. During the battle with Turner, she saves “me” and sacrifices herself. Leedy had long known about her wrongdoing and had been seeking a way to atone. As a consequence, Leedy is killed by Turner, Capella, and Procyon.
