Overview

Rin is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online.

Background Story

Rin was born into a merchant family. However, her family went bankrupt due to management problems and conflicts with other merchant families before Rin could even inherit it.

Left alone in the world, Rin joined the Thief Guild simply to survive. As a result, Rin developed a rough personality, but she still retained the ability she had inherited from her merchant background: getting along with those around her. Meanwhile, the lesson Rin learned when her family went bankrupt led her to pursue strength.

As a result of these two aspects of her personality coming together, Rin became rough when working yet quite loyal to those around her. Rin's abilities were soon recognized, and she eventually became the head of the Thief Guild. However, Rin's personality was closer to that of a noble outlaw than a bandit, which inspired those around her while also provoking opposition from the established powers within the guild.

Kashu of the Thief Guild, who opposed Rin, brought in mercenaries from outside, started a rebellion, and sought Rin's life. However, thanks to her other subordinates helping her, Rin was able to escape the danger despite being injured. Rin vowed revenge against Kashu and was grateful that Bane, her former lover, had helped her out of danger.

Prologue

She first appears in Bane's First Love. At the time, the nations were troubled by incidents across Nevareth in which the Thief Guild attacked merchant caravans. Bane sensed that something was strange and asked for help investigating the matter. The Thief Guild Master Rin was someone Bane knew well.

When you visit the Thief Guild's warehouse at Bane's request, Rin is found injured from an attack carried out by her subordinate Kashu within the Thief Guild. Although Rin is grateful that Bane asked for help on her behalf, she denies it, saying that she never orders her subordinates to do anything vile. While vowing revenge against Kashu, Rin faints and is taken to the Investigation Team Camp by “me.”

King's Consort and Guardian Knight

The Memorial Core collected by “me” showed the faces of Veradrix, Yuan, Rin, and Freed in sequence. They were the Guardian Knights of Light. When you visit Rin to tell her this, she expresses her gratitude for saving her life last time. She is shocked to learn that she is a Guardian Knight of Light who has become the King's Shadow. Afterwards, she joins “me” and the others in unsealing the Underground Bunker of Ice Mountain east of Bloody Ice and finding the third Apocalypse Card.

The King Disappears

Because Nine became infected with vampire venom, the situation calls for obtaining an antidote. Rin obtains the Undead Clan's antidote from among the three required antidotes. Later, upon learning from Silverwood that Patren has been kidnapped, Rin criticizes Silverwood, saying that she disliked him from the start because he was gloomy, and suggests that they come up with a plan as soon as possible.

While “I” was carrying out another mission, Rin was secretly investigating the Heresists who had infiltrated Port Lux, together with Freed and Yuan. In the meantime, they succeeded in capturing a member of the Dark Clan. However, the Dark Clan prisoner refused to talk, so Freed asked “I” to interrogate him instead.

After the interrogation, the Dark Clan prisoner confessed that they had been exploiting the Heresist revival and had indeed joined forces with Prometheus. However, he denied that the Dark Clan was under Prometheus’s command, saying that they were merely cooperating with each other.

In fact, the pieces of the Absolute Soul Core possessed by the Monster Clan masters were reacting according to one another’s strength. They sensed the existence of the seventh and most powerful piece, and the Dark Clan sought to expand its influence by exploiting the Heresists in preparation for the chaos to come. The Dark Clan prisoner also revealed that Prometheus was searching not only for the Lord of Destruction but also for an object possessing the power to control the Absolute Soul Core.

Mourn the sorrow

Aike is killed in Silverwood’s attack. Enraged, Rin vows to make Silverwood pay the price, even at the cost of her own life. Later, saying that Silverwood and Patren’s whereabouts could not be found, she agrees to attack Prometheus’s Base in Fort. Ruina, trusting the map and Nine.

The True Nature of Prometheus

At the Abandoned House in Fort. Ruina, the group decides to split into three teams and carry out their respective missions. Mystic Blade, Yuan, and Arionell set out to find Patren by pursuing Silverwood, while Freed and Rin decide to search for the ASC Controller. Nine and “I” raid Prometheus Base together. After it is revealed that Nine is a spy, Rin says it is horrifying to have been manipulated by Prometheus’s plan. However, she says Prometheus must be troubled because the plan, carried out despite the risks, has failed, and informs them that Freed is searching for the ASC Controller.

Later, while investigating the location of the ASC Controller at the Abandoned House in Porta Inferno, Rin discovers that the senior officers of the Mage Guild have been replaced. Rin suspects that Prometheus infiltrated the guild disguised as the replaced Mage Guild officers. After discovering that one of the Mage Guild officers is friendly with the Metal Clan, she asks “I” to stop it.

The Source of the Lord of Destruction

When the Serum of Truth is used, Silverwood spills everything he knows. He says that the Lord of Destruction has already awakened and is running wild with uncontrollable power. He also says that even the ASC Controller will soon be destroyed by the Lord of Destruction. He further reveals that the Lord of Destruction, Faust, and Saint Valentine are all the same person, and that he was also the one who created the ASC Controller.

Rin insists that it will all be over if the ASC Controller is destroyed and Patren fully awakens as the Lord of Destruction, and argues that Prometheus and Patren must be stopped.

Meanwhile, she says there was something she forgot to pass on, and that Veradrix and Sirius had originally been urgently looking for “I.” She tells “I” to hurry to the Port Lux Residence.

The Kingslayer’s Mission

The group travels to Undead Ground to find the ASC Controller. Sirius says that Patren seems to have awakened as the Lord of Destruction and gone berserk, so they must prepare a last resort. Sirius teaches them the second mission of the Six Stars. The Guardian Knights are each born with two missions, and of them, the two who can confront the King and break his power are Arionell and Yuan.

Afterward, the group decides that Rin and Freed will prepare the ASC Controller, Mystic Blade will prepare to track Silverwood, and Veradrix and Arionell will prepare Patren’s Seal.

While Yuan searches for the Kingslayer’s Weapon, Veradrix is murdered. Arionell informs the other companions of Veradrix’s death and asks “I” to gather everyone, saying that he wants to hold a simple funeral.

When Veradrix was murdered, Rin was searching the investigation area for the ASC Controller. Rin was enraged by the news that, following Aike, even Veradrix had been killed.

Destruction of the Source of the Great Destruction

While searching for the ASC Controller, I learned its location from the listening device I had installed at Prometheus's Base. The ASC Controller was in the Tower of Undead. Having learned this, Rin and Sirius set out first, but the moment they entered the Tower of Undead, Lich Rigel's subordinates attacked them. Sirius sent the injured Rin outside and reentered the Tower of Undead. Worried about Sirius's condition, Rin urged me to find Sirius. Fortunately, Sirius was alive, but their injuries were serious.

After the former Sage, Lich Rigel, awakened and the final battle approached, he encouraged me, saying that the fate of Nevareth rested on me. He said that after Lich Rigel was defeated, the ASC Controller would also be destroyed, and since Lich Rigel would be dead, Prometheus would collapse as well. Meanwhile, Sirius died after leaving his last words. Later, we reunited with our companions at the House of Undead. However, before we had time to overcome our grief, Patren took Arionell to the Altar of Eternity. It happened so quickly that no one could stop it.

Rin wonders whether this was Patren's will or whether the Lord of Destruction was attempting to seal himself. When Arionell stops the Great Destruction and seals the Lord of Destruction, Rin bitterly reflects on the fact that the Age of Imperfect Humans has ultimately arrived. Still, Rin feels relieved that everyone is safe.

At a gathering of the companions after Patren's Seal, Rin says that she will rebuild the Thief Guild and find a way to help those who helped her.
