Freed is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online.

Background Story

He is one of the most talented treasure hunters. In particular, his ability to understand terrain is outstanding.

Freed joined the Treasure Hunter Guild and trained there, dreaming of exploring unknown regions beyond the open sea. Naturally, Freed’s original purpose was far removed from investigating ruins. Freed’s sociability and spatial intelligence were talents welcomed by treasure hunters. In fact, Freed achieved several successes.

Freed came to join the Ruins Investigators because he was a friend of Expedition Leader Bane’s son. Having noticed Freed’s talent, Bane eagerly worked to bring Freed into the Ruins Investigators. After Bane’s persuasion, Freed joined the Ruins Investigators and is rummaging through ancient piles of stones, unable even to imagine what fate awaits him.

Activities in In-Game Quests

Prologue

He appears as a member of the Ruins Investigators. While searching Area 2, he met Patren and Silverwood. Freed recommended them as investigators, saying that they had extensive knowledge of ancient ruins and were highly skilled.

Meanwhile, while exploring Area 2, Freed discovered an important artifact, but it would not budge even when the three of them combined their strength. Exhausted, Freed asked me to bring the artifact instead and returned to camp first. Because of this, the people around him scolded him for leaving me alone. After learning that the artifact was a shining card, he said he would report it to Aldebaran. It was later revealed to be the sealed Apocalypse Card.

King's Consort and Guardian Knight

The Memorial Core collected by me showed the faces of Veradrix, Yuan, Rin, and Freed in succession. They were the Guardian Knights of Light. Freed was astonished to learn that he was a Guardian Knight of Light who would succeed the King. Later, together with my party, he broke the seal on the Underground Bunker of Ice Mountain east of Bloody Ice and found the third Apocalypse Card.

The King Disappears

Silverwood blamed himself for his mistake, saying that he should have pursued Patren when Silverwood abducted him.

He later asked me, who was engaged in activities outside, to return. While I was carrying out another mission, Freed was investigating Heresists who had secretly infiltrated Port Lux, together with Rin and Yuan. In the process, they succeeded in capturing a member of the Dark Clan. However, the Dark Clan prisoner refused to speak, and Freed asked me to interrogate him instead.

After the interrogation, the Dark Clan captive confesses that they had been exploiting the Heresist revival and had indeed joined forces with Prometheus. However, the captive denies that the Dark Clan is under Prometheus's command, insisting that they are merely cooperating.

In fact, the pieces of the Absolute Soul Core possessed by the Monster Clan masters were reacting according to each other's strength. They sensed the existence of the most powerful seventh piece, and the Dark Clan sought to expand its influence by using the Heresist in preparation for the chaos to come. The Dark Clan captive also reveals that Prometheus is searching not only for the Lord of Destruction but also for an object with the power to control the Absolute Soul Core. Freed shares all this information with everyone.

Burying Sorrow

When Aike is killed and Patren goes missing in the Silverwood attack, he blames himself for failing to stop Silverwood. At the same time, he wonders how Silverwood managed to find their hideout.

The truth about Prometheus

At an abandoned house in Fort. Ruina, the group decides to split into three teams and carry out their respective missions. Mystic Blade, Yuan, and Arionell pursue Silverwood to find Patren, while Freed and Rin decide to search for the ASC Controller. Nine and I attack Prometheus Base together. Later, after it is revealed that Nine is a spy, Freed is the only one absent when all the companions gather, as he is searching for the location of the ASC Controller.

In Search of the Land of Death

When you visit Freed at Sirius's request, he is pleased to see you. Freed had been having difficulty with the search. Only high-ranking officials in the Sage Tower know that the ASC Controller exists, so ordinary people do not even know about it. As a result, it was difficult for Freed to search for it among the general public. Freed had first asked the port managers to find someone who knew about the ASC Controller. Freed's method paid off. Porter, a port manager, finds someone who knows the whereabouts of the ASC Controller. It was Heil. After learning the location of the ASC Controller from Heil, you travel with the group to Undead Ground.

Kingslayer's Mission

The group gathers at the entrance to the House of Undead. At Sirius's direction, they went to find Researcher Tesky before I arrived. They missed each other, so they reportedly waited a long time for me to arrive. After receiving the Apocalypse Card from me, they return to Sirius. Later, feeling uneasy that only Arionell and Veradrix are at the House of Undead, they urge me to go ahead. True to that premonition, when Freed returns to the House of Undead with Sirius, the lodging has already been attacked by Silverwood. Veradrix sacrifices himself to save Patren, and Patren disappears somewhere once again.

While searching for the whereabouts of the ASC Controller, they learn its location from the listening device that I had installed at Prometheus's Base. The ASC Controller was in the Tower of Undead. Rin and Sirius depart first, while Freed stays behind to relay the information to the group. Freed says that he will go with Mystic Blade and tells them to go ahead.

But Freed was late again. When he learns that Sirius has died, Freed says that his movement was unintentionally delayed and becomes confused about whom he should trust and follow from now on. Mystic Blade apologizes, saying that the outcome seems to have changed because he was unable to contact Freed. He says that they should wait for the Lord of Destruction to be sealed while also preparing for the possibility of failure.

After sealing Patren, Freed says that Sirius once told him to remember the Sword of Guardians whenever he looked at the Apocalypse Card. Freed then says that he is leaving to find the surviving Sword of Guardians.
