Rigel is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online.

Background Story

Unlike the other Sages, Rigel is a quiet Sage who rarely shows himself to the world, giving him an enigmatic image. Therefore, unlike Aldebaran, who is known to people because he often wanders the world, very little is actually known about Rigel. Moreover, since Rigel does not manage a continent as the other Sages do, he rarely comes to the attention of others.

According to those who met Rigel out of curiosity, he views the human world with considerable cynicism. This personality appears to be largely rooted in the hardships Rigel experienced in the past. The position of Sage Rigel has been passed down through the generations by their disciples. Although the details are unknown, it is presumed that the Sage Rigel of the current era was an orphan until he was taken in by the previous Sage Rigel.

After entering Sage Tower, Rigel learned a great deal from his master and successfully inherited the position of Sage.

The Truth About Prometheus

Shortly before his death, Aldebaran discovers that Rigel is a spy within the Sage Tower. It was Rigel who lured the Sword of Guardians into a trap. He confronts Sirius at the Vampire Lair, which was identified as Prometheus's Base. During this process, it is revealed that Rigel was the one who kidnapped Nine and used him as a spy. Rigel condemns Sirius for living in luxury and knowing nothing of hardship, and plans to use the power of the Lord of Destruction to “overturn the wrong world and create a perfect world.” Sirius expresses skepticism that a person could truly wield the power of the Lord of Destruction, but Rigel is confident that it is possible as long as he has the ASC Controller. He injures Sirius in the subsequent confrontation and retreats.

Destroy the Source of the Great Destruction

He makes the mistake of leaving his ring at Vampires's Castle. Because of this, Prometheus's true base is exposed. Rigel wounds Sirius and Rin at the Tower of Undead, but ultimately fails to stop 'me' from destroying the ASC Controller.

When the ASC Controller is destroyed, Rigel angrily declares that his thousand-year plan has come to nothing. He then awakens Sage Lich Rigel, the former Sage and leader of Prometheus, saying that with the ASC Controller destroyed, no one can stop the Lord of Destruction. While Lich Rigel fights, Sage Rigel escapes.

Eternal Winter

Elena's past is revealed when she opens a Warp Portal that allows her to see it. Elena was Aizhan's twin and was being experimented on by Rigel. The twins were afraid of the experiments because they were frightening and painful. However, Rigel becomes angry, saying that the twins obtain too easily what he had wished for.
