Sage Sirius
Overview
Sirius is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online.
Background Story
Sirius is a Sage who has served Nevareth at the Sage Tower for a very long time. He is wise, as though he knows all the principles of the world, and benevolent toward those around him. As a result, Sirius is particularly respected by the people among the 7 Sages and serves as the spiritual pillar of all Nevarethians.
Sirius ordered the installation of Special Combat Colony facilities in dangerous areas in accordance with Saint Valentine's wishes. Bloody Ice, Green Despair, and Desert Scream were installed first, but construction of the remaining two was temporarily suspended when Sirius suddenly disappeared.
A massive search was conducted throughout Nevareth after Sirius's disappearance, but Sirius was never found, and the Sage Tower prepared a successor, believing that Sirius had died. However, the successor firmly believes that the former Sirius is still alive and says that his own position is only temporary. As he predicted, Sirius did not die and was preparing for future events somewhere while waiting for The Promised Day, one thousand years after Saint Valentine's death.

Prologue
He had been living in disguise as an eccentric old man called Captain Mark to conceal his identity. When 'I' find out how to contact the Eileen siblings and visit him, he is reluctant, but he is pleased when told news about other people. Even while living in hiding, Sirius had been concerned about his old comrades. When told how to contact the Eileen siblings, he becomes tense, saying that the time has come.
If you bring him the Apocalypse Card discovered during the ruins investigation, he tells 'me' that 'I' am the figure of prophecy. The card brought by 'me' was not something just anyone could use to undo the Seal.
Sirius explains the Great Destruction, an event that occurred a thousand years ago. The anomalies on the continent of Nevareth are signs that the Six Dark Stars are awakening or that the Great Destruction is about to begin. The task of the figure of prophecy is to find the four Guardian Knights and the King's Consort who can prevent it. Sirius then begins deciphering the Apocalypse Card.
King's Consort and Guardian Knights
Sirius found symbols in the Apocalypse Card, but even with his abilities, he could not interpret them. Instead, he recommends Researcher Heil as someone who can interpret them. Heil is eccentric by nature, but is said to be the most skilled person in Nevareth.
Following Heil's interpretation, solving the riddle of the Altar allows you to obtain the Second Apocalypse Card. Sirius is surprised to see the Second Apocalypse Card, but relieved that it provides a clue to finding the stars of light. After deciphering the symbols, he determines the location of the Memorial Core that can be used to find the Guardian Knights. The Memorial Core is found in a desert location indicated by Sirius. The Memorial Core successively displays the faces of Veradrix, Yuan, Rin, and Freed. They were the Guardian Knights of light who would prevent the catastrophe.
When all five stars except the King's Consort gather at Sirius' Hideout, Sirius says that they must find the remaining figure, the King's Consort. To do so, they need the Third Apocalypse Card. The five stars operate a machine together in the underground bunker of Bloody Ice and find the Third Apocalypse Card, but it is once again composed of complex symbols, and Heil's help is needed to decipher it. However, Heil has disappeared without a trace. Once they find Heil, who went into hiding because of gambling debts, and borrow the Ancient Deciphering Book, Sirius deciphers the Third Apocalypse Card and reveals that the King's Consort identified by the card is Arionel.
Thus, all six stars except the King's Star gather. Sirius urges the Guardian Knights to find the King's Star before it awakens through the power of darkness and awaken it through the power of light instead.
The King disappears.
Although Nine was rescued, Nine is kidnapped by vampires and remains poisoned. The group splits up to search for an antidote, collecting the torn pieces of the Armband Fragment one by one. When Sirius receives the completed armband, he is horrified.
This was because it was a symbol representing the Knight of Immorality, one of the Six Dark Stars. The Knight of Immorality was even the one with the most cunning fate, destined to deceive the King and usurp his power. Sirius suspects that Patren may be a child born with the King's fate and says that if he is indeed the King, they must hurry to bring him back. Otherwise, Patren will awaken as the Lord of Destruction through the power of darkness. The group later defeats Silverwood and rescues Patren.
Heil restores a map marked with Prometheus's Base, but it is also filled with symbols and needs to be deciphered. If you meet Sirius with Nine and hand him the map, he will tell you what he has been doing.
While the others carried out their missions, Sirius examined ancient documents and records. Among them was a journal recording the circumstances before Saint Valentine sealed the rampaging Lord of Destruction a thousand years ago at the cost of his own life. It is said that before Saint Valentine, a genius scientist named Doctor Faust left behind the research accomplishment of developing the ASC Controller. This is a special device that controls the Absolute Soul Core.
Sirius suspects that if Prometheus knew of the ASC Controller's existence, Patren would be a descendant created as a clone of the sealed Lord of Destruction. Sirius says that, for now, he will find Heil himself and ask him to interpret the symbols.
Burying the Sorrow
While Patren is missing, Aike is murdered, and Sirius is injured after being attacked by vampires. He asks me to obtain Glacier Herb so that he can rest and recover. After treating his injuries, Sirius mentions that almost no one knows the visitor quarters and his hideout, and raises the possibility that there is a spy within the group. However, he suspects that the spy may have been brainwashed and controlled against their will. They find a new place to hide before being attacked again. He then instructs me to visit Aldebaran and find clues for tracking the internal spy. However, Aldebaran had already been murdered.
The true identity of Prometheus
Sirius first enters the Vampire Lair identified as Prometheus's Base and confronts Sage Rigel. Rigel claims that he will overturn the flawed world with the power of the Lord of Destruction and create a perfect world. Sirius skeptically asks whether Rigel can truly wield the Lord of Destruction's power, but Rigel confidently asserts that it is possible as long as he has the ASC Controller. Sirius is seriously injured in the ensuing battle.
Although lamenting the fact that Nine was a spy, Sirius remains skeptical about rescuing Nine. He says that, above all, protecting the ASC Controller and Patren must come first.
When all the companions gather, he reveals that Nine is a spy for Prometheus and that its leader is Rigel, the Sage of two generations ago. Sirius suspects that Prometheus has identified the location of the ASC Controller and fears that Patren may have already awakened as the Lord of Destruction.
The origin of the Lord of Destruction
Unlike the other companions, who are shocked by the news learned from interrogating Silverwood, Sirius is not particularly surprised. Sirius discusses the theory that Faust and the Lord of Destruction are the same person. He thought this theory had disappeared after the Great Destruction, but in retrospect, he says that Saint Valentine may also have had a dual nature, like Patren's fate.
In search of the Land of Death
The string ASC is found in the broken warp circuit. Yuan says they should consult Sirius about it and goes to see him, but Sirius realizes that this is a habit of the Undead Clan. The Undead Clan had a habit of leaving records behind.
Once it becomes certain that the Undead Clan has joined forces with Prometheus, Sirius guesses that Prometheus's Base is located in the Undead Clan's primary habitat, Undead Ground. However, what matters now is not Prometheus's Base but the ASC Controller that Freed, acting alone, is searching for. Sirius asks me to go there personally and assess the situation.
Kingslayer's Mission
Once Heil confirms that the ASC Controller is indeed in Undead Ground, the group moves together. Sirius says that Patren seems to have awakened as the Lord of Destruction and gone berserk, and discusses the possibility that he already possesses two or more items known as Absolute Core Fragment. If that is true, he says they must prepare a last resort.
That last resort is the killing of the King. The Six Stars were each born with two missions, and Arionell and Yuan are the two who can oppose the King and break his power. Yuan's second mission is Kingslayer, while Arionell's second mission is Seal. Because it is impossible to know whether Patren will seal himself like Saint Valentine, the outcome cannot be guaranteed, which is why the Stars of Light have second missions.
When Arionell hears about the Seal, she pities Patren. Yuan, on the other hand, quickly accepts his mission. Fearing that all of Nevareth will turn into hell if he abandons his task, he sets out to find the Kingslayer's Weapon. Veradrix says that Arionell's second mission is too harsh, yet Veradrix's own mission is Sacrifice.
The group then decides that Rin and Freed will prepare the ASC Controller, Mystic Blade will track Silverwood, and Veradrix and Arionell will prepare Patren's Seal.
Sirius says that one Apocalypse Card remains and that the Phantasmal Clan has it. Although it is unknown how the Phantasmal Clan obtained it, they supposedly used it to bring prosperity to their race. Sirius says he would have gone himself, but he has had difficulty moving since being injured by Rigel, and asks me to retrieve it.
If I hunt Wurk in Lake in Dusk and obtain the Apocalypse Card, Sirius says that the card will become a key capable of saving the world and tells me to take it to Tesky. When the final Apocalypse Card is delivered to Tesky with Freed, Tesky creates a special device despite seeming uninterested.
Freed receives the special device and the Apocalypse Card from Tesky and, bewildered, suggests going to see Sirius. When I return after receiving the special device from Tesky, Sirius teaches me how to use it. The device can charge the Apocalypse Card's energy and temporarily halt the power of the Lord of Destruction. Sirius says there will be a moment when it is needed and hands the device to me.
After hearing from Sirius about how to use the special device, Freed recommends returning to the House of Undead first, saying that it will take him some time and that he is uneasy about leaving only Arionell and Veradrix there.
However, by the time he arrived, it was already too late. From inside, he could hear Arionell screaming and the sounds of someone fighting. When he hurried inside, Arionell was sobbing. Arionell tells him what happened.
Patren stole one Core Piece from the Phantasmal Clan and gathered two pieces. However, disgusted with reality, he came to find Veradrix and Arionell so that he could seal himself. While Arionell hesitated, Silverwood attacked in order to seize the Piece. Veradrix saved Patren and sacrificed himself instead, while Patren disappeared somewhere once again.
Veradrix is in critical condition after sustaining a fatal injury while stopping Silverwood. Veradrix says he merely fulfilled his mission and is relieved that Patren is safe, then dies after leaving a final request to protect Nevareth. Sirius regrets not leaving only Arionell and Veradrix behind, but encourages us by saying that he will not let their deaths be in vain.
Sirius asks me to transport Veradrix's remains to Desert Scream, saying that because Veradrix belonged to the Sage Tower, his funeral must be conducted by the Polis authorities rather than civilians. When the enraged Yuan goes alone to find the Lord of Destruction with only the Kingslayer's Weapon, Sirius urgently sends word so that he can be rescued.
Although Rin and Freed are investigating, they have been unable to find the whereabouts of the ASC Controller, and Mystic Blade's tracking has also produced no results. Sirius is concerned that the Lord of Destruction's rampage is accelerating. The residents have not been harmed yet, but it is impossible to know how long that will last.
Sirius asks me to have Arionell make contact with the Lord of Destruction and watch the King's Consort attempt the second mission. He says that, with the Lord of Destruction's energy surging strongly, Arionell should be able to instinctively locate the Lord of Destruction. He also speculates that, because Patren's will resides in the Dagger Patren gave me long ago, I should be able to speak with Patren through the Dagger.
When I return after meeting Patren, he says he is grateful that everyone returned safely. Sirius had thought Patren was a weak child, but he is impressed by the fact that Patren possessed the strong will to choose the Seal himself. However, if Prometheus finds the ASC Controller before the Lord of Destruction does, self-Sealing will be impossible even if Patren's will remains.
Destroying the Source of the Great Destruction
We discover a transparent Ice Ring with unusually intricate carvings at Prometheus's Base. Upon seeing the Ice Ring, Sirius recognizes it as the ring Rigel carried. Rigel had a habit of imbuing his belongings with his own attributes. The Ice Ring moves by following its owner, making it clear that Prometheus's Base must be where Rigel is.
As Sirius predicted, Rigel's Ice Ring reacts with the entrance to the Ice Castle. However, Sirius determines that it would be difficult to immediately sweep Prometheus's Base because they are outnumbered, so he first tries to assess their movements and situation. In other words, he wants me to infiltrate Prometheus's Base, install a listening device, and monitor them. As a result, the location of the ASC Controller is revealed.
Sirius storms the Tower of Undead with Rin and fights Rigel's subordinates. After a fierce battle, Rin is injured, and Sirius fights Rigel alone. Sirius suffers a fatal injury and is rescued by me, but he says that I should have rescued the ASC Controller first instead of him. Humanity's fate depends on the existence of the ASC Controller. The Lord of Destruction seeks to destroy the ASC Controller and become completely free from Patren's ego. Prometheus seeks to subdue the Lord of Destruction through the ASC Controller. The ASC Controller is currently weakened by the Lord of Destruction's attacks. Sirius asks me to destroy the ASC Controller.
Although the ASC Controller is destroyed and Sage Rigel is defeated, Sirius's injuries are fatal. Sirius leaves a final message that we must trust the will of Patren remaining within the Lord of Destruction and wait, but ultimately dies. Everyone in the group mourns Sirius's death.
