Overview

Silverwood is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online.

Background Story

He is a mysterious traveler who appeared alongside Patren. After rescuing Patren when he was in danger one day, he began traveling the world with Patren and exploring ancient ruins. The experience, knowledge, and combat abilities he gained in this way helped him gain acceptance into the Ruins Investigators.

However, Silverwood was actually a member of a secretive organization and was acting under a secret mission. That mission was also why he traveled with Patren. His true objective was to seize the power of the Lord of Destruction.

Silverwood thoroughly concealed his objective from the Ruins Investigators and was waiting for an opportunity to betray them. However, Silverwood never imagined that Mystic Blade would appear before him. His old nemesis, Mystic Blade, is relentlessly pursuing him and thwarting his mission.

His Activities in In-Game Quests

Prologue

He is discovered by Freed in the second area of the Ruins Investigation. From their first meeting, he displays a gloomy demeanor, such as evaluating “me.” Freed recognizes him as knowledgeable about ancient ruins and highly skilled. They then begin working together.

The King Disappears

As soon as it was discovered that Patren was the King’s Star, news arrived that Silverwood had taken Patren, who had been with Freed, away as if abducting him.

Yuan suggests splitting up to investigate the Monster Clan groups that have not yet been attacked, and instructs “me” to investigate the Plant Clan northwest of Green Despair. Patren was indeed there. I confront Silverwood and rescue Patren. After being rescued, Patren says that he had been committing terrible acts because of Silverwood and thanks me for stopping him. While Patren was abducted, Silverwood planned to kill the clan master and gather all the Core Pieces, and forced Patren to follow him. Along the way, he found and killed members of the Sword of Guardians. As a result, Patren felt guilty for being unable to stop Silverwood.

Burying the Sorrow

He attacks the lodging while “I” am meeting Sirius and Nine. Provoked by this, Patren runs wild with tremendous power and then disappears without a trace.

The Truth About Prometheus

After failing to escape following the assault, Silverwood was captured by a group of Guardian Knights. Silverwood kept his mouth firmly shut during interrogation and refused to open it, making things difficult for the group.

The Source of the Lord of Destruction

Interrogating Silverwood yields no results. Silverwood shows no sign of ever revealing Patren's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Yuan knew several key technologies of the ancient civilization. One of them was the existence of the Serum of Truth, which stimulated the nerves in the brain and made a person speak only the truth regardless of their own will. Yuan asked me to bring it to me. Mystic Blade was startled upon seeing the Serum of Truth and, being unable to see, asked me to use it on me instead.

When the Serum of Truth is used, Silverwood reveals everything he knows.

Silverwood says that the Lord of Destruction has already awakened, destruction has begun, and he is rampaging with uncontrollable power. He also says that even the ASC Controller will soon be destroyed by the Lord of Destruction. He reveals that the Lord of Destruction, Faust, and Saint Valentine are the same person, and that Faust both created and sealed the ASC Controller. Silverwood then escapes his restraints using the power generated as a side effect of the Serum of Truth.

The Mission of the Kingslayer

Patren stole one Piece from the Phantasmal Clan out of the seven Core Pieces and collected two Pieces. However, feeling disgusted with reality, he went to Veradrix and Arionell to have himself sealed. Silverwood realized this and attacked in order to seize Patren's power. However, Veradrix sacrificed himself to save Patren, causing Silverwood's plan to fail, and Patren disappeared somewhere once again.

Although Patren, awakened as the Lord of Destruction, rampaged, he was sealed again by Arionell, the King's Consort, and the Sword of Guardians, so Silverwood's mission was effectively a failure. Furthermore, his nemesis Mystic Blade will continue pursuing him, leaving Silverwood with a bleak future.
