Background Story

Black Bard is a mysterious figure who is a friend of Sirius and about whom little is known. He travels and wanders throughout Nevareth, claiming to be a bard. For this reason, he is nicknamed the bard who does not sing.

His knowledge is extremely extensive, and he even knows things from hundreds of years ago. Thanks to this knowledge, Black Bard is said to foresee everything. Nevertheless, because he has lived a wandering life rather than staying in one place for long, little is known about Black Bard, and meeting him is even more difficult. However, Black Bard already foresees what the future of Nevareth will be like.

You meet him when you are asked to undertake Cox's request to defeat the Giant scorpion. When you return after defeating the Giant scorpion, Black Bard mentions Sirius. Black Bard says that Nevareth is now facing major changes and presents two choices: whether to seek true sovereignty or collapse because of the Great Destruction. Alternatively, the Guardian Knights may become divided. However, he emphasizes that this is not the instruction of transcendent power, but something humans chose for themselves.

When you go to meet him with Jidash's Grimoire, he says that people must be desperate to search for even something like this. He says that Black Bard is the only person in the world who can decipher the book. He also mentions other experts, but takes the attitude that it does not matter who deciphers it. Moreover, he says that even if the grimoire is deciphered, the more important question is whether the disaster will truly end. He says that the Lord of Destruction has already awakened and that a new era will begin, mentioning what will happen after the Lord of Destruction disappears.

Black Bard hears about the trouble caused by Golems in Port Lux and provides a solution. That solution is to bring the Ghost Blader's Ring from Undead Ground to the Golems. Although it is impossible to know whether it will work because it happened so long ago, he says that the Golems will calm down if you do so.

When you bring the official letter received from Morrison, he predicts that humans will be unable to avoid War. He claims that this War is a necessary evil for the Era of Humans that will open in the future and teaches you why Capella and Procyon are fighting. He also advises you to choose carefully because a faction chosen once cannot be changed later.

If you meet Black Bard without completing the prerequisite request, he nags you to resolve someone else's request first. His manner of speaking gives the impression that he is something other than human.
