    Overview

Sage Procyon is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online.

    Background Story

On the continent of Juan, there is a six-story branch that oversees the Outer Tower of the Sage Tower. Although it carries strong symbolic significance, Procyon, the leader who governs this place, can effectively be regarded as the true power behind the Outer Tower.

It advocates a policy in which a strong supreme leader strictly controls and distributes information to cultivate gifted individuals who have received the finest education, thereby realizing the ideal society envisioned by the Sage Tower.

Having attained the position of Sage at a young age and held it steadily for a long time, he is a Sage like Capella, but as another ambitious figure, he maintains a subtle rivalry with Capella.

He feared that Aldebaran's return to the Sage Tower after wandering the world and attending the council would cost him his power. He had ruled the continent as a politician rather than as a Sage and had kept the young Sage Pollux in check. They felt the need to completely dismantle Prometheus, but because they disliked Aldebaran, they stood by and allowed him to die. After the Lord of Destruction vanished and even Prometheus disappeared, they decided to exercise their innate lust for power. They decided to end their tacit alliance and hostile symbiosis. This marked the beginning of the Capella Federation and the Procyon League.

    In-Game Quest History

    Suspicious Sage

You meet him after receiving a recommendation from Officer Shooterburk. He makes excuses, saying that he had wanted to call on you but could not because you seemed busy, and that he was able to meet you thanks to Shooterburk. With the Sage Tower fallen, a world in which individual will is important has opened. However, many people are struggling because they cannot adapt. He thinks that when the warrior chose a nation, the warrior must also have sympathized with his belief in being led by a strong leader. However, much remains to be done before such a world can come about. He says that the warrior's help is urgently needed. Although he expects to ask for many favors in the future, he first asks you to resolve the grievances of the Colony residents.

He summons you after hearing that you visited Port Lux. After hearing about the circumstances of the Colony residents, he says they are as he expected. Port Lux is not under any nation's jurisdiction, but it is located at a strategic point. He says he would be delighted if they followed him. He laments that the seemingly peaceful Colony is becoming divided, but asks whether there is any other solution.

Capella believes that the only answer is to end this conflict quickly rather than let it continue forever.

After visiting Lakeside, he reports on the disputed area. When told about the Colony residents' reactions, he says he knows he is being criticized and that he is losing public support. However, he says he will try to end the war quickly.

Capella summons you again. He asks what you saw and felt. He pursues a peaceful world, saying that it will come after the end of chaos. He asks about a person named Skaild. Saying that Skaild recently disappeared, he asks you to find him. He is troubled when the search for Skaild ends without result. He shows you an empty potion bottle and asks whether it was empty. It was a potion that prevented people from lying.

    First Meeting

Skaild is being searched for, but contact with Skaild has been lost. One person who can help with handling matters going forward is recommended. He was the captain of the secret escort knights directly under the Sage. His identity is not well known to the public. A letter of introduction is written so that you can meet him in Fort. Ruina.

If the search for Skaild does not progress well, he summons you and recommends a place to train. Elena is also said to have trained there. The first basement floor of Forgotten Temple. It is infamous as a ruin of the Honorable Age. They say that no one who enters can get out, except those with power and a destiny different from everyone else. He assigns you the mission of defeating Felichra there. It is said that Elena will acknowledge you if you succeed.

While receiving reports on the search for Skaild, he presses for details about what Skaild said.

    Weapon of the Mechanical Monsters

After receiving Elena's report, he learns that the villagers are forming a secret organization. He says he will take measures to prevent discontent from erupting again. He is perplexed that people do not recognize him.

He assigns you a mission to resolve the incidents occurring in Pontus Ferrum. He says that the clans' condition seems unusual lately, as the balance among the monsters has collapsed. He expresses his condolences for Elena's companion having been sacrificed. He warns that the Metal Clan monsters of Pontus Ferrum are strong.

When you bring monster parts from Pontus Ferrum, the Sage introduces you to the scientist Leedy, who can analyze them. Leedy pretends to be meeting you for the first time. When Miles comes to see him, he tries to persuade him but fails. Later, Leedy is attacked by unidentified assailants and nearly kidnapped, but Elena intervenes.

    Skaild is in a relationship

Due to Redujin's mistake, you overhear the Sage's conversation. Sage Procyon was having a secret conversation with Elena. Procyon tries to calm Elena and tells her that it is not yet time, but Elena strongly demands something from him.

    Eternal Winter

He is calm following the attempted kidnapping. Upon learning that someone destroyed the monument in Porta Inferno, he is surprised that it happened so soon. He says that even though the Sage Tower has collapsed and split into two factions, it is an unspoken taboo to meddle with the power of the Lord of Destruction. To resolve the internal problems, he dispatches you as a peacekeeping administrator to Arcane Trace.

He is pleased with carrying out the purge of refugees.

The Prelude to the True Battle

Sage Procyon hears a report from Leedy and seeks to expand his influence into the Senillinea Continent. Capella has established a base in the southern part of the continent, while Procyon has established one in the north, and the two are in conflict. Saying that you performed well as a peacekeeping administrator in Arcane Trace, he dispatches you to Senillinea. He tells you to listen to what the local residents have to say. When you return after hearing their stories, he asks for your help while asserting the validity of his ideology. Procyon says that without the help of the Senia people, the tasks he can undertake will be limited, and that he must reconcile with the locals. Therefore, he tells you to help them.

He explains the Northern Forest. Unlike the Southern Forest, which underwent grotesque mutations after the tower's explosion, the Northern Forest has retained the appearance of Senillinea. From a human perspective, however, it is not simply a beautiful place, because the forest caused the people of Senillinea to lead stagnant lives.

While traveling through the Northern Forest at Procyon's request, you encounter the guardian of the Northern Forest. The guardian asks whether you will protect the forest or satisfy your own greed, and whether you think human power will last forever. Procyon claims that confronting the guardian is humanity's destiny. He says that humanity has no hope if it cannot defeat the Guardians. He insists that, now that mutations are occurring, only humans can save humanity.

He confesses that he made a mistake and that Turner gained power. Procyon says that the worst possible situation has occurred because Turner, whom he thought was imprisoned, escaped and met Aizhan. He apologizes for failing to inspire trust and explains that he saw through Turner's scheme and met Aizhan. Sage Procyon tells Leedy the truth in a confrontation between the three of them.

In the past, Procyon discovered Senillinea while exploring outside after Patren was sealed. During the expedition, he discovered traces of Prometheus in the Senillinean Tower. After learning the circumstances from Leedy, who remained in the tower, Procyon learned that Prometheus had not disintegrated and was dreaming of making a comeback somewhere. He formed a temporary alliance with Capella and decided to share the Lord of Destruction's power in order to protect Nevareth from Prometheus. He now regrets that decision.

Leedy had been selected in the past by Sage Rigel, while Prometheus continued researching the Absolute Soul Core even after the Lord of Destruction disappeared. When Rigel disappeared, Prometheus was shaken as well, but it was not annihilated. At that time, the Sage who had discovered the continent came to the tower, and the Sages used Turner's power to draw out the power of the Absolute Soul Core for the twin sisters. Leedy gave the twin sisters medicine to control their power. Aizhan lost her memories and her power fell dormant, but the medicine had no effect on Elena and instead amplified her power. To resolve the situation, Procyon insists that Turner must be stopped and the twin sisters must be saved, even if it means forming an alliance with Capella.

When they gather people and return, Turner, having revealed his true nature, confidently faces the expedition party. Turner had already awakened the twin sisters' power. The two Sages then present opposing views. Procyon says that if the two Souls are merged into one, at least one medium could be saved and that power could also be wielded. In Aizhan's case, her Soul itself is already collapsing, so he proposes killing Aizhan and wielding the power through Elena. Capella, however, warns that a piece of the Lord of Destruction's Soul has already run wild, making it extremely dangerous and uncontrollable, and that if Elena, who already possesses great power, is revived, she will be reborn as the Lord of Destruction. Therefore, Capella proposes killing Elena and choosing Aizhan to remove the Lord of Destruction's Soul and the power of the Absolute Soul Core entirely.

If Procyon is chosen and Aizhan is killed, Capella objects and, saying that there are no choices left now that Aizhan is dead, joins forces with Turner to abduct Elena. Turner says that without his power, the power inside Aizhan will explode and the continent will be destroyed.

Leedy sends “me” and Elena through the Warp Gate that had been left open in advance for their escape, sending them to Leedy's laboratory, and closes the Gate. In Leedy's laboratory, Elena awakens her power.

The twins are beings who connect the beginning and end of the world as mediums. They have continued to exist through repeated reincarnations. They were originally meant to be a single being (Patren in a previous life), but because of the Wheel of Fate known as the human world, which differs from the previous world (the conflict between Capella and Procyon is an exceptional case within the grand chronology of the continent of Nevareth), they are divided into two beings that reflect the appearance of the continent of Nevareth. Thus, for the order of this world, Elena accepts her fate of death and dies after promising to be reincarnated once more as a single, merged being.

When I returned, Procyon and Turner had already fled, while Capella and the body of Leedy, who had collapsed and died, remained there. Through her tears, Capella says that Turner and Procyon appear to have colluded with the Prometheus organization. Capella admits that her choice was never right and says that the greatest crisis has now arrived, and that she needs my power to prevent the continent of Nevareth from falling into Procyon's hands. I cry out and swear that I am not fighting for an ideology or for the Sages' politics, but will fight for my country and protect the people dear to me through sheer determination. I also foresee that, just as the two mediums merge into a single being, the continent of Nevareth will soon find a unified form as well. However, I realize that such an outcome will never come without terrible Sacrifice, as with the deaths of Aizhan and Elena. Aware that my existence is the key to fate, an infinite succession, and a being that continues to create this world, I swear to confront the conflict between the nations of Capella and Procyon to the very end rather than avoid it, since I hold every possibility for the future.
