Overview

Skaild is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online.

Background Story

Skaild was born into the Miz Family, a famous and prestigious family in Nevareth. Skaild wanders around Nevareth, claiming to be a genius. In reality, however, he is all bluster, and his combat ability is that of a novice.

Before leaving the Miz Family, Skaild was a candidate to become the heir, but no one had high expectations of him because he caused trouble every day. Since Skaild was always boasting and lying, even the Miz Family regarded him as a nuisance and paid him no attention. That is why no one cared when Skaild ran away from home.

Until they learned that Skaild had stolen the family heirloom and fled.

The Miz family eventually organized a tracking party to pursue Skaild. However, Skaild still has not been captured and continues to evade them with ease. Skaild tells others that he ran away because his homeland could not support his potential, and instead of training his abilities, he practices poses that make him look cool.

Strange Traveler Skaild

He offers you the chance to meet him, saying that his name is somewhat famous. When you meet him in person, he boasts that he will teach you a technique for defeating a Stone Beetle in one blow. But, as expected, it is all bluster. Skaild goes to rest, saying that using his strength has made him tired.

When you summon him again and visit him, he claims that Lihorna will start firing Thunder Beam. He gives a long speech about a monster he wants to keep as a pet, telling you to try it yourself if you do not believe him. After completing the quest, he laughs and asks whether you really believed that Thunder Beam would be fired.

He apologizes for deceiving you until then and tells you that bringing back the hide of the Two-headed Hound from Forgotten Ruin will earn you a lot of Money.

But this was another trick. If you collect the hides and bring them to the general goods merchant Libert, Libert laments that you brought back such garbage and says that, if you are short on Money, he can even lend you some on credit.

When you summon him and visit him again, Skaild claims that the Griffin is actually a natural monument officially designated by Sage Tower and says that an Officer will punish you if you hunt it. Of course, this is not true.

Skaild claims to be of noble blood from a family with a long and distinguished history. If you do not believe him, he tells you to ask Mezias. He says that no one in Nevareth is unfamiliar with the Miz family, and that Mezias recognized the Miz family heirloom he possessed at a glance.

Mezias reluctantly sets the record straight. Skaild was a candidate to become the heir of the Miz family, but he ran away from home, and he was such a nuisance to the family that they probably would not have cared even if he had run away. However, Skaild was being pursued by the Miz family because he stole a Miz family heirloom. Of course, Skaild denies running away from home, insisting that he merely ventured out into the wider world.

During the sixth call, he talks about the Special Combat Colony. He boasts about the newly established Special Combat Colony, Port Lux.

During the seventh call, he asks to be rescued, claiming that he is in a life-or-death crisis... He asks for money, saying that Miz is in serious trouble. He says Miz may disappear if things go wrong, but it is impossible to know whether this is true.

During the eighth call, he summons you to show off something impressive: a Bike. When asked how he obtained the Bike, he boasts that there is nothing money cannot accomplish. Judging from the circumstances, he seems to have obtained the Bike with the money he borrowed during the previous call. Skaild offers to give you the Bike if you pass his test. However, once you actually complete the test, he pretends not to know you and tries to make excuses that he cannot give you the Bike because it is too expensive. Instead, he gives you something else and disappears.

Sage

When you search at Sage's request, you discover that Skaild is indeed missing. While searching Skaild's house, you find a suspicious brown potion bottle. When you ask Leedy what it is, you learn that Skaild drank a potion that causes memory loss.

First Encounter

When you go to the place Marcus told you about, you find Skaild. Skaild had been running away from Sage and was suffering from a headache and memory loss after drinking only a small amount of the potion. Skaild asks you not to reveal his whereabouts to Sage.

Mechanical Monster Weaponry

He calls you through Cox. He says that he has not yet recovered from the potion he drank last time, but received a restorative potion in someone's parcel. Apparently having learned nothing, Skaild drinks the restorative potion immediately without any suspicion. Fortunately, the sender of the parcel was Leedy.

When you accompany Aizhan and Elena to meet him and ask him to tell you what happened, he tells you about the memories he lost after drinking the potion. Skaild says that he saw someone abandoning a huge mechanical monster weapon there. That person was a very short child who sobbed uncontrollably while abandoning the mechanical monster weapon. After the child disappeared, the mechanical weapons activated and devastated the surrounding area. Skaild went to Sage over this matter and ended up drinking a potion that causes memory loss.

Skaild Is in Love

After making you hunt Richelle in Illusion Castle Radiant Hall, he pretends not to know anything and boasts that he defeated G'ni. When you visit him after hearing the rumor, he makes excuses that he did not do it intentionally. He then demands that you bring him a mermaid as well. Only after being hit by you several times does he explain why he stole the credit. Skaild wanted to return to the home he had run away from. However, he needed to achieve enough accomplishments to meet the requirements, and his own abilities were insufficient.

The reason he wanted to return home was that he had fallen in love. Skaild wanted to regain his original status so he could confess his feelings to the woman he loved. The problem was that the person Skaild had fallen for was Aizen/Elena. Skaild borrowed money from you, claiming he would use it to buy clothes, but instead used it to obtain the Guard Insignia required to enter the residence. He asks you to use it to find information about the person he has fallen for.

When you fail to learn anything about the woman, he asks you to deliver a Love Letter instead. When you tell him about Aizen/Elena's identity, he declares that he will not give up despite being flustered. When Aizen/Elena actually receives the Love Letter, she is dumbfounded by its contents.

The Prologue to the True Battle

If you ask for the location of the Aizen/Elena twins, whom you have not met yet, they refuse to tell you. However, if you persuade them by offering to help you start dating, they immediately relent and tell you where the twins are.
