Overview

Deighton is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online. It can be found in Bloody Ice.

Background Story

Deighton is an old man who runs a general goods shop in Bloody Ice. He cherishes his only daughter dearly and possesses exceptional business acumen and intuition. Even as the Great Destruction approaches, and even with war looming on the horizon, Deighton considers how he can sell goods to the residents.

Quests in the Game

Bloody Ice

You first meet him when you enroll as a trainee in the Special Combat Colony. He asks you to obtain Zombie Maid's hair because his suppliers have recently stopped dealing with him, making it impossible to acquire. He says that if you bring him the hair, he will make straw sandals from it.

Prologue

If you visit him after being introduced by the Eileen siblings, he tells you that the old man known as Captain Mark is actually Sirius. He informs you that a record of how to meet Sirius was left inside a lump of metal heated by the furnace fire in the Bloody Ice mine.

Normal Quest

He dotes on his only daughter. He is such a doting father that he even describes her poetically. After hearing that his daughter is coming to Bloody Ice to meet Deighton, he asks you to obtain a gift for her. In the past, the son of a tycoon died while exploring Bloody Ice, but the pack he had with him was never found. The problem was that it contained a very valuable Red Diamond. After learning that one of the zombies in Bloody Ice possessed a Red Diamond, Deighton asks you to obtain it. When you bring him the diamond, Deighton replies with wide-eyed amazement that his daughter will love it.

Another time, when his daughter wanted a puppy, he went so far as to ask me to capture the Phantom Hound found on the second basement floor of the Tower of Undead. Yet when I brought it back, he complained that it was not particularly cute.

Deighton wants you to obtain fuel because he is concerned about the severe cold that will soon strike Bloody Ice. Coal dust is needed to fuel the stove, but the stock ran out one day. Normally, there is plenty of coal dust in the mine, so this would not be a problem, but the Lynxhorn Zombie Leader has taken over the mine. Deighton asks you to collect the coal dust clinging to the body of the Lynxhorn Zombie Leader.

After an uneasy energy began to permeate the continent of Nevareth, items used as talismans began selling like hotcakes. Among them, items bearing Skeleton Warrior horns are the most expensive. Deighton asks you to bring him Skeleton Warrior bones. Deighton says the horns are of excellent quality and begins working on them.

Deighton says that Bloody Ice has gradually grown warmer because of the strange phenomenon that appeared in Nevareth, and that this has threatened the residents' ability to survive. The temperature is rising, causing their houses to melt. To secure shelter, even temporarily, bones from Ghouls in Undead Ground are needed. Deighton says that, as a resident of Bloody Ice himself, he can no longer overlook the situation. He then complains that both the Colony and the Sage Tower are utterly irresponsible.

Deighton laments that Capella and Procyon seem intent on starting a war after all. They are keeping each other in check to claim the Sage's legacy for themselves. Deighton says that war will happen no matter what, and that the warriors will stop at nothing to survive. What the warriors needed to enhance their Weapons was Spector's yellow gem. Deighton asks you to obtain it, saying it will sell well now.

Deighton says that business has declined considerably because the atmosphere in Bloody Ice has recently worsened. A series of disturbing incidents has occurred lately. Bloody Ice has had a cemetery honoring pioneers since ancient times. The residents regularly visited the cemetery to pay their respects. But one day, visitors began disappearing one after another. To make matters worse, rumors spread that a lost child had been seen near the cemetery. Deighton says that the lost child looked similar to the boy people used to call the Demon King. The Colony also stepped in to investigate, but has been unable to make much progress. Deighton hands over an item his friend found near the grave and asks you to find Jewelia, who disappeared from the house next door.

He is surprised to learn that you travel in and out of Mutant Forest. He says that, in the past, monsters took the curry powder and chili powder he was carrying as spices while he was passing through Mutant Forest. He asks you to retrieve them.

He says that when the heat pouches received from the Eileen siblings are delivered, they sell well in Bloody Ice because it is covered in snow, unlike the scorching desert of Desert Scream. Deighton praises Eileen's business acumen.
