Overview

Soyoung is an NPC in the MMORPG CABAL Online. She can be found in Fort. Ruina.

Background Story

Soyoung has so much knowledge about medicines that the people of Fort. Ruina are said to seek her out first whenever they fall ill. Although she does not tell others the details, Soyoung is believed to be from the Mage Guild, the Academy, or an organization related to one of them. In fact, Soyoung was from the Sage Tower, but she made a mistake in the past and was expelled. She later entered Fort. Ruina to regain her Core Alchemist qualification.

Kingslayer's Mission

It is first mentioned to Mystic Blade. Mystic Blade recommends Soyoung, saying that she has such extensive knowledge of medicines that there is nothing about them she does not know throughout Nevareth.

Soyoung cannot determine what the medicine is, but says that although Heil is eccentric due to his gambling addiction, he is not a bad person at heart, so it should be safe to trust him and try taking it.

Destroying the Source of the Great Destruction

When you visit after hearing Solme's words, Soyoung tells you that Mystic Blade has stopped by and asked her to pass a medicine bottle on to you. She says that you look as though you could collapse at any moment and should take the medicine right away.

Prelude to the True Battle

After Leedy's death, a passerby is stopped and given a medicine bottle. It is said to have been left behind by Leedy before his death, along with a request to tell someone to drink it. Soyoung says that something like this seems to have happened before, and asks what to do, saying that she also does not know what medicine is in the bottle.

Normal Quest

The Sage Tower once suffered great disgrace after conducting a misguided experiment to determine the violent nature of monsters. It was like the misguided experiment conducted in the past by Officer Henkoff of Bloody Ice. The fact that 'I' had helped Henkoff had already spread widely throughout Nevareth.

Soyoung says that very fierce monsters also appear in Fort. Ruina, and that Hound S-01 sometimes attacks people even though it is not normally violent. That was also why Solme was injured.

The Sage Tower was originally supposed to investigate the violence of monsters, but its credibility collapsed because of mistakes it made long ago. Therefore, Fort. Ruina is trying to investigate it on its own. Soyoung asks you to obtain Hound S-01’s teeth as material.

Soyoung is worried that the residents of Fort. Ruina have less stamina than they did in the past and have become more vulnerable to stress. Soyoung explains that this is because artificial chemicals latent in Mecha Ape’s body have leaked out, and that Mecha Ape is a monster born from the technology of an ancient civilization. In Mecha Ape’s biological structure, all chemicals are regulated through neural circuits. In humans, this would be an endocrine organ like the pituitary gland. Soyoung wants to analyze Mecha Ape’s neural circuits to solve the mystery.

It has recently been discovered that artificial chemicals contained in Metal Clan monsters are leaking out. Living things exposed to them inevitably met their deaths. Since the chemicals float through the air like a gas, there is no way to deal with them once they spread. Soyoung says it is fortunate if the chemicals do not leak, but otherwise advises avoiding them as much as possible. Soyoung plans to make protective clothing against exposure from Electric Bird’s metallic hide, as it prevents air or the chemicals from entering the body. Soyoung asks you never to disclose this fact to outsiders so that Nevareth does not fall into confusion.

Soyoung says she cannot stand the situation in which monsters are running rampant, strange signs are everywhere, and people talk about nothing but war. Nevareth is in such turmoil that even people who do not want to get involved in worldly affairs have had enough. To make matters worse, the situation has only been worsening since Undead Ground became known. Soyoung says she believes that clearing away the energy emanating from there might prevent the Great Destruction or war from occurring. She asks you to go to a point where you can eliminate the yin energy emanating from Undead Ground and drive in stakes.

She is very interested in monsters. She asks you to capture Obidiant so that she can dissect it to determine whether its tail is actually its head or its tail.

Soyoung suddenly asks whether you are satisfied with your profession. This is because Soyoung lost confidence after seeing other Magic Merchants. Soyoung is also training in her own way, but says she cannot help being less skilled than other people, including Yerte. Soyoung says she has resolved to make the most of her strengths, and that monsters also try to use their strengths when fighting enemies. The most famous monster was Zealru. Zealru stole warriors’ wits by summoning subordinate monsters or moving about unpredictably. Soyoung asks you to defeat Zealru so that she can confirm its ability to move freely and its ability to summon subordinate monsters. If you return after defeating it, she becomes interested in the ‘me’ who is stronger than the monsters.
