    1. Overview

Faust is a genius superhuman scientist who completed the unified field theory developed in the 21st century. However, the world focused only on his research achievements and began ostracizing him instead of honoring him for completing the theory.

Faust gradually began to be forgotten by the world, and, feeling betrayed and disgusted by his country, he disappeared. Some believed the government had killed him to protect classified information, while others thought Faust had gone insane and been hospitalized.

In fact, Faust had changed his name to Saint Valentine and founded an Academy with seven disciples. Faust began the Academy with his seven disciples on the third floor of an old house. People laughed at Faust's old, shabby Academy, but Faust earned recognition from those around him through his abilities.

Later, an organization called Prometheus appeared, throwing the world into chaos. Prometheus carried out terrorist attacks against institutions in various countries while warning those who used superhuman abilities for power. The affected governments suspected the Academies, and the conflict between the governments and Academies steadily intensified.

At that point, Prometheus's final manifesto was released. They accused the governments of various countries of conducting secret human experiments on superhumans at superhuman science laboratories, presenting evidence.
The governments countered that the evidence was fabricated and declared that such despicable acts of terrorism and large-scale, organized anti-state activity were themselves strong counterevidence that the Academies were harboring terrorist organizations.

Ultimately, intense protests and increasingly ruthless crackdowns caused massive bloodshed, leading to an all-out confrontation between the governments and the Academy. Faust lost his family to the government in the process and, disillusioned by the fact that the government had conducted biological experiments, sided with the Academy.

When worldwide anarchy broke out due to Prometheus's terrorist acts, he stepped forward to prevent looting and destruction and maintain public order. Because of these achievements, people began calling Faust a Sage.

Meanwhile, Faust learned Prometheus's identity and the secrets of purifying civilization and creation. He felt repelled by the idea that Prometheus sought to rule the world despite the tremendous loss of life it would entail, but he was already in a situation where escaping Prometheus's grasp was difficult.

Prometheus's repeated terrorist attacks led to the "Nightmare Night," during which all governments vanished and widespread anarchy broke out. Faust stepped forward to restore public order but could not escape his guilt.

Then, at the final moment, disaster struck. The Lord of Destruction suddenly appeared in the world, the Six Calamities began, and monsters emerged and massacred people. The world, which had only just begun to recover after Nightmare Night, stood on the brink of destruction.

At that moment, Faust sacrificed himself to seal the Lord of Destruction, barely bringing the situation to an end and saving humanity from the brink of extinction. Just before the sealing, Faust sealed himself away and warned only some of his disciples about the future.

A thousand years later, when the power of the Seal runs out, the Lord of Destruction will awaken again, and the Apostles of the six Clans and their kin will regain their full power, bringing about calamity. The seven Sages and the surviving New Humanity must therefore train together to gain the strength to oppose them.

    2. The Truth

Prometheus deliberately used the governmental, military, and economic power they possessed to set them against Faust, causing Faust to distrust power. Prometheus also whispered such ideas into Faust’s ear as “a force independent of power,” “an equal opportunity for everyone to learn abilities,” “new power must be used for the peace and happiness of humanity,” and “there is no choice but to resort to violent means to protect this power from great powers.”

Meanwhile, Faust gradually awakened ASC while studying the legacy of the past and learned things even Prometheus did not know. As this conflicted with his existing indoctrinated beliefs, he became skeptical. When his distrust of the government deepened, Faust concealed his former identity and went into hiding as Prometheus had led him to do. He then changed his identity and took the name Saint Valentine, beginning to act on Prometheus’s instructions. Faust founded the Academy of Superhuman Abilities and gathered and persuaded potential ability-users around the Academy.

When Prometheus approached Faust, he did not trust them, but he wanted revenge on the world and cooperated with Prometheus under the pretext of helping restore order from the chaos.

However, Faust did not agree with Prometheus’s actions and was skeptical about having to take action himself. Even after learning that Prometheus’s true purpose was “to build a world in which they would reign as gods,” he had already become too deeply involved to escape their grasp easily.

Faust’s awakening of ASC’s power caused the Great Destruction, laying waste to the world. During Great Destruction, Faust regained consciousness amid the destruction but could no longer control ASC. However, while he was unconscious, ASC’s rampage became the catalyst for Faust to achieve a deeper awakening.

While unconscious, Faust “learned” of the creation and destruction of the 1st Civilization and 2nd Civilization recorded in ASC. After using this knowledge to anticipate future events if ASC’s rampage continued, Faust took drastic measures.

Faust was already breaking down from the backlash of ASC’s rampage. Although his abilities had grown stronger through his awakening, they were beyond what he could endure. Meanwhile, monsters temporarily released from ASC’s control were ravaging the world. In the end, Faust sought to control the rampage using the forbidden power known as the ASC Controller.

Faust summoned the ASC Controller from subspace and slowed ASC’s rampage. Once the situation had eased to some extent, he sealed himself in subspace together with the ASC Controller. He did so to account for the consequences of a control failure, and this was possible because he had read the memories of the last day of the 1st Civilization.
However, an event even Faust had not anticipated occurred.
The ASC Controller had begun to split apart.

    3. The Splitting of the ASC Controller

The fierce struggle between the ASC Controller and ASC in subspace ended with both sides destroying each other. ASC broke into seven Pieces, and six of them disappeared through subspace in the explosion at the time of its destruction. The ASC Controller’s functions were mostly shut down by output exceeding its limits, and self-repair would take an enormous amount of time. Faust became trapped in subspace with the last Piece.

    4. The Escape of the Six Clans

The six Clans had been sleeping within ASC’s subspace. However, when Faust lost consciousness as ASC ran wild, they escaped a seal lasting nearly ten thousand years under ASC’s control and slaughtered people during the Great Destruction.

On the seventh day after the conflict between ASC and the ASC Controller began, their binding Seal regained its power and forcibly recalled them to the subspace ruled by ASC. Later, when the Pieces of ASC were scattered, their subordinate seals were also divided and scattered among the individual Pieces.

Although the six Clans each obtained one Piece of ASC, they were not completely free from subordination because the core of ASC, its seventh Piece, was still in Faust’s possession. They gained limited freedom and were released into Nevareth.

    5. Faust’s Plan

Trapped in subspace, Faust was left in an irreparable condition while enduring the immense force generated by the conflict between ASC and the ASC Controller. Although he could not escape death, Faust completed his awakening, broke free of his indoctrination, and came to contemplate the truth, enabling him to learn everything. After sensing that the six Pieces had disappeared and the six Subordinates had escaped from control, Faust took action based on the following judgment.

    6. Faust's Objective

Faust believed that all forces seeking to manipulate humanity's destiny had to be annihilated, that humanity's free will had to be restored, and that humans should determine their own destiny.
To achieve this, he believed that ASC, which possessed overwhelmingly powerful strength, ASC Controller, Six Clans, "him," and the Prometheus organization all had to disappear. However, considering the dangers humanity would face in the future, he intended to use Prometheus for a while.

    Prometheus

Prometheus wanted to control ASC and its power and held extremely dangerous beliefs. However, the nearly extinct human race would need their help to make a fresh start in the ruined future. Faust believed he had to accept their help while keeping their ambitions in check so they could not be realized. He also judged that, given their secret-society nature, they would not reveal themselves publicly and would act covertly.
He knew that someone among the Seven Disciples was connected to Prometheus, but he thought it did not matter. Faust had to make Prometheus oppose the Six Clans.

    Six Clans

Faust learned that each of the six scattered Pieces was inferior to the one left with him, but if two or more Pieces were combined, even he could not withstand them. For humanity's sake, the seventh Piece still could not leave the subspace. Humans were not yet capable of withstanding the attacks of the Six Clans.
Furthermore, all the scattered Pieces could sense one another's presence. However, within the subspace, the seventh Piece held by Faust could not be sensed by them. He also judged that even if they obtained the Pieces and became considerably stronger, they would need a long time merely to recover from the shock.
To stop the Six Clans, they would have to defeat them one by one, have the rightful owner of ASC emerge, or use the ASC Controller.

    7. Faust's Measures

Faust gained the power of "Omniscience" through ASC.
He knew that Prometheus would create his clone and that, when he ceased to exist, the seventh Piece would move to the clone. Faust anticipated that his clone would undergo the same stages of awakening as he had and that Prometheus would attempt to control him, so he took measures in advance to prevent this.
Faust engraved messages to be delivered each time his clone awakened into ASC and arranged for the clone to gradually acquire increasingly powerful mental defense abilities. He also arranged for a special message to be transmitted at the final stage of awakening.
The clone was given multiple layers of barriers to prevent it from resonating with the other Pieces, and these barriers were to be released once the owner completed a certain stage of awakening. In the meantime, the Six Clans would continue clashing with and checking one another, while Prometheus would focus solely on the clone's awakening; this would allow the Seven Disciples to buy more time
The time needed until then was one thousand years. The clone a thousand years later would become his true successor and bring everything to an end.
Faust removed part of the seventh ASC Piece to create the eighth Fragment for someone who would assist the clone. He arranged for whoever obtained the eighth Fragment to become the dagger that would quell all the chaos and the guardian who would ensure that the plan did not fail.
He then divided the ASC Controller into several pieces and divided the space as well, storing them in separate spaces. He left clues so that the locations of the other places could be learned only after all those pieces had been found.
Then Faust left a message for his Seven Disciples.
He told them about the disappearance of the six Pieces and its repercussions, the existence and identity of Prometheus, and that their power was necessary for humanity's survival but had to be strongly checked. However, he told only Sirius that there was a traitor among the Seven Disciples.

Afterward, Faust ceased to exist within the subspace, and his Seven Disciples departed with the survivors for the continent that had newly appeared in the world.

    8. A Thousand Years Later

When Patren completed his first awakening, the first message Faust had planted in ASC was delivered as he had arranged.

    1. The owner of the seventh Piece has awakened. Protect him.
    2. Let Sage Tower and Prometheus learn about the Sage's Legacy.

Patren now begins his journey to gather his Pieces.
