Third Special Combat Colony

1. Overview
A special combat Colony located in the central eastern region of the Pastur Continent.
Its official name is “Polis Industria’s Third Special Combat Colony.”
2. Environment
A vast forest stretches across the central eastern region of the Pastur Continent. This is the Forest of Nostalgia (or the World Tree Forest). The Combat Colony is located in a corner of this vast forest, in a hot and humid jungle region.
People call this colony “Green Despair.” Originally, “Green Despair” was the name of a highly fatal endemic disease found in this jungle region. The Nevareth Chronicles contain accounts of expeditions into this area—the vast forest—and every one of them mentions Green Despair. It is said that when a trainee from the early days of the colony contracted the endemic disease and began to show signs of recovery, the first thing he said was that even Green Despair was no match for the horrific training regimen.
A huge river crosses the vast forest, with tributaries winding through it like veins. During construction, the expedition explored along these tributaries and discovered traces of many pioneer villages. However, no residents could be found, and the causes are presumed to include the terrible natural environment, monsters, and endemic diseases. Traces of such pioneer villages also remain around the Colony, but most have now become monster lairs.
Other notable features include an area called “Red Jungle” and trees called “Young Tree of Life.” Like the Red Desert among the deserts, Red Jungle is a jungle with an extremely harsh environment in which it is difficult for living organisms to survive. The only visible things are gloomy red soil, bizarrely mutated plants, and enormous, grotesque insects. The expedition also found traces of pioneer villages here, and after learning that they were not very old, cautiously concluded that Red Jungle was expanding for “some reason.”
Meanwhile, the “Young Tree of Life” trees are large enough, although they are not as enormous as the World Tree faintly visible in the distance. Several were found around the Colony. The expeditions could not confirm whether they were the same species as the “World Tree,” but judged that this was possible and gave them that name.
3. Miscellaneous
The clothing consists of garments in a style that is shorter and lighter than the clothing formerly worn in Industria. At first, they had no choice but to procure and sell clothing from far outside the forest, but as more people have begun traveling back and forth recently, the number of vendors producing clothing locally has also increased.
