The war that broke out on the Huan Continent was not over. Warehouse Guard Cox tells you about the news coming in through the Nevareth Port Service. Nevareth was currently in an uproar. War broke out between Judin and Medenark, followed by a truce, and investigations into the monsters were also suspended. The Mercenary Corps urges people to wage war for their pay, while the monsters continue to run amok. Even the monsters of Forgotten Ruin have invaded Desert Scream.

Cox had accepted the Giant scorpion extermination request for the time being, but with no one to handle it, he had apparently simply given up. Cox was becoming disillusioned because of the situation. However, while pondering what the right thing to do was, Cox counters that dangers in legends do not feel real, and that being human means having no choice but to worry about immediate survival.

At Cox's request, if you go to Forgotten Ruin to hunt the Giant scorpion, you will meet a person named Black Bard. Instead of revealing his identity, Black Bard says something difficult to understand: Sirius foresaw his own destiny and sent 'me' to him. Black Bard says that whether Nevareth will regain its sovereignty or collapse in the Great Destruction lies in the hands of the Guardian Knights. He also says that even if humans split apart, it would be a human choice rather than the command of a transcendent power, allowing them to make a new beginning, and that he hopes they will have clear convictions.

Meanwhile, bitter cold continues on the Midreth Continent. Fisher says this is the first time the cold has become so severe and wonders whether it might be an omen of some impending disaster. Fisher asks you to hunt the Berserk Ghoul of Undead Ground. Apparently, because it is so cold, some people claim it is the curse of the undead. Fisher does not believe the rumor, but says a way is needed to ease people's anxiety. As expected, nothing changed even after the Berserk Ghoul was defeated.

On the Pastur Continent, torrential rain was falling without end. The flooding was so severe that neither Polis nor Sage Tower could do anything about it. In the meantime, some people apparently discovered the existence of a book containing a spell that could stop the rain. However, the book is held by an Orc Mage named Jidarsch in Lake in Dusk.

If you defeat Jidarsch and visit the person Nadler introduced you to, you will meet Black Bard. Black Bard says that people must be desperate indeed if they are searching for something like this, and that the question is not whether it can be deciphered, but whether the disaster will end. The Lord of Destruction has already begun to awaken, and the movement to carry on the Era of Humans has already begun as well. He adds cryptically that those who want to usher in the Era of Humans will also want the Lord of Destruction to disappear, but if the Lord of Destruction disappears, the alliance will end too.

In Port Lux, the Golems suddenly began running wild. Shlansky tells you about Black Bard and asks you to find him, saying that he might know how to resolve the problem. After making inquiries, the general goods merchant Hampric reveals his location. Black Bard teaches that the Golems can be calmed if you bring him the Ghost Blader's Ring from Undead Ground. However, he adds that it is such an old record that he cannot say whether it will work. Hoping it will be effective, Shlansky takes the ring to the Officer.

Officer Morrison says that the atmosphere in Sage Tower is unusual. The Huan Continent was under the charge of Sage Procyon, while the Pastur Continent was under the charge of Sage Capella. Suddenly, they declared independence from Sage Tower. Morrison says that the warriors of Nevareth will eventually have to choose one side. When you visit Black Bard, he explains that war has become unavoidable and tells you about the Sages. Capella pursues an egalitarian society. Procyon pursues an absolute leader. Black Bard advises you to think carefully before deciding which faction to join.
